Chez Victor – The Best Place in Quebec for Hamburgers

Chez Victor, located just on the edge of the Faubourg neighborhood at 145 rue St-Jean Street, serves by far the best burgers in Quebec City: beef burgers, salmon burgers, pork, lamb, vegetarian…the list goes on.  On the waiter’s suggestion, I tried out the salmon burger, which was as he said it would be:  mouthwatering excellence!  My husband went for the traditional hamburger.  We forwent the fries this time, substituting for a house salad, which you can see was a very generous portion.  The cost was $13.95 for mine, and 11.95 for the other.  The prices are reasonable considering the large portions, and the ambiance is comfortable, charming and casual.  Sure, you can save a few bucks in choosing one of the fast food chains, but trust me, they don’t compare!  This is a great burger joint!  One rarely sees a tourist at this location. (Yes, they have become so popular, now there are many locals)  Chez Victor is truly a local neighborhood find and authentic Québec experience.  You will not hear much english here, so go out on a limb and practice your french!
