Red Bull Crashed Ice 2013

The Red Bull Crashed Ice finishes it’s 2012-2013 season under the enchanting night lights of Old Quebec City.  This year’s course is the longest built in the 400 year old city.  Two Canadian teams, Living the Dream, and Mountain Rockers place 3rd and 4th, while Switzerland’s three-man Swatch Pro Team placed first over Team Finland to win their second race of the 2012/13 season.  Because the city is still in negotiations with the Red Bull Crashed Ice powers to be, this could be the last year Quebec City hosts this awesome event.  We hope not!!!

A few days ago, I was a little worried the weather would not cooperate, given our spring rain, but the ever so reliable Canadian winter weather promised to return with an arctic blast of cold air, providing the perfect temperature for the race.  The moisture added a slick coating of ice to the course that ultimately provided the perfect surface. Tonight’s finals start at 7:30 and you can catch them live feed via internet on Red Bull TV.  Tonight’s ice cross downhill final will also be airing with Canadian TV stations Sportsnet and TVA hosting the race live from 8.30pm.  Our clients can enjoy a short walk from the Manoir towards the famous Chateau Frontenac to catch the starting point of all the races.

After the races, be sure to head down to Rue St. Jean, as Pub Saint Alexander has live music, a great selection of beer, and some great eats to satisfy your after Red Bull cravings.  This weekend is Saint-Patrick’s Day, so plan and participating in the the festivities, as this is the offical location for Saint Pat’s Old Quebec Party!
