Enjoying the storm even though Québec’s Carnaval grand opening postponed

Emma and Valerie playing in the storm

If it weren’t such a beautiful winter snow storm, I might be disappointed.  The grand opening festivities have been postponed until tomorrow night, Saturday the 28th at 7:15.   We were blessed with about 20cm of pure powder heaven in Old Quebec today.  Carnaval goers will will have to wait until tomorrow, but that hasn’t stopped us all from a fun filled day of cross country skiing, sledding, skating and of course, a good old fashioned snow ball fight.  This Carnaval weekend promises perfect weather, just hovering at freezing.  Even Emma joined in on the fun, prancing in the snow.  After an hour, however, she had had enough and hoped to come back into the hotel.  Given the moderate weather tomorrow, no doubt she’ll join in on the carnaval fun!
