Le Mistral Gagnant – a delicious treat

Today for lunch we joined friends at one of our favorite QuebecCityrestaurants:  Le Mistral Gagnant.  The understated, yet welcoming provençal ambiance might lead one to believe the food might be simple as well, but the food will absolutely surprise you.  We started with a delightful leek and potato soup.  Following, I had the pleasure of enjoying  the salmon and mahi mahi, complemented by mouthwatering squash mousse and scalloped potatoes.  To top it off, we all enjoyed the traditional Quebec sugar pie.  The prices are reasonable, the food fantastic, and the setting full of southern french charm.  You will find the owners, Bernard Cazes and José Herrero either serving their customers or in the kitchen preparing your meal.  Le Mistral Gagnant is definitely one of the restaurants that we will recommend on our list at the Manoir.
